The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Situated in northeast Italy on the similarly-named Gulf, the city of Trieste boasts the country's most northerly positioned harbor. The city is idyllically located on a limestone plateau's slopes as they say: where Europe's heart touches the Mediterranean. Trieste is an underestimated, very appealing city, with a peaceful and charming almost Eastern European ambience, several cafes and pubs, some fabulous architecture and stunning sea views.

The limestone plateau is renowned for its numerous caves, both in the Italian zones as in the sections of neighboring Croatia and Slovenia. As a result, by the end of the 19th century the scientific study of caves was introduced here. Trieste with a population of 260,000 is the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region's capital. The most convenient way of transport for visitors is offered by car rental in Trieste Downtown.

Until the 18th century Trieste was surrounded by walls, which pressed the city in its orthogonal structure. The centre expanded gradually after 1719, when the walls were demolished. Today the historic harbour still provides the basis for the city's economy and it is one of Italy's most significant ports.

When staying in Trieste, travellers should not miss visiting the impressive Cathedral of S. Giusto: joined together in the 14th century, the two Romanesque basilicas are now the town's symbol. Also check out the castle, originally built in the 14th century, but featuring quite some baroque extensions. Exploring the surrounding Friuli-Venezia Giulia region is possible with car hire in Trieste Downtown.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
