Up in the north of Spain, on the Bay of Biscay is the port city of Santander. It is mostly known for its large and busy port, but also for its long history and nearby beaches. Car rental in Santander Airport is preferred by many visitors to the city for its affordability and convenience.

Santander Airport (airport code SDR) has flights mostly to domestic destinations including Las Palmas, Madrid and Barcelona, though there are also routes to Italy, England Germany and Ireland. There are currently only two airlines operating at the airport; Ryanair and Iberia.

The airport is small with one terminal. The facilities are basic, and there are a few places to eat, mainly in the Departures area, as well as some shops which offer snacks, newspapers, magazines and souvenirs. There are also ATMs, currency exchange and seating areas.

The available cheap car rental in Santander Airport is located in the Arrivals hall close to the main exit, and is alongside the public transport booking desks where you can buy tickets for shuttle buses. Once you have collected your rental car, head to the north along the Autovia S-10 for around three miles and you will come directly into Santander city centre.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).
