Brazil's capital of happiness is Salvador da Bahia, or simply Salvador. It is situated along the northeast coast of the country and 706 square kilometers. Getting cheap car hire in Salvador Downtown is one of the ways tourists can travel around the city. Salvador is one of the oldest cities in the New World and in Brazil.

Tourists can visit the historic center in Salvador or sample some of the local cuisine at the many restaurants found all over the city. UNESCO has dubbed Salvador's historic centre as a World Heritage Site in 1985, and tourists are able to view different old houses in the area and visit other ancient structures.

About 50 kilometers' worth of beaches are located along the coastline of Salvador, and these are lined with hotels, guesthouses, and other forms of lodging opposite the beach. Locals and tourists alike flock to the beaches and go swimming, diving, and even underwater fishing.

Shopping malls are scattered all over the city where one can shop or simply browse the different products being sold at the retail stores. Capoeira, which is a local form of martial arts and dancing, is also being practiced in Salvador. Tourists can find capoeira demonstrations in the streets of Salvador.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
