The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Location information for Opatija

Opatija is located in Western Croatia, off southwest of the Adriatic coast. Sitting at the foot of the Ucka mountain, the town is situated along the Gulf of Kvarner on the Istrian peninsula. Due to its location, it is popular with tourists during the summer and winter months. Aside from seaside views, Opatija is also surrounded by woods and rocky mountains.

The town of Opatija got its name from the 14th century Benedictine abbey, Abbey of Saint James, where the word “abbey” translates to “opatija” in Croatian. The abbey today is located in Saint James' Park and can easily be reached with a car hire at Opatija.

But while the abbey is an important structure in Opatija, the most popular sight in town is the Villa Angiolina. You can check out the villa with a cheap car hire at Opatija, converted into a hotel boosting tourist activity in the town. As it is a posh destination, members of nobility frequented it. This paved the way for more luxury villas and hotels to be built in Opatija.

Other notable places in Opatija include Hotel Kvarner, the Police Station from the Keglevic family, and Restaurant Kamelija.  What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
