Although terminal 1 was indicated

Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Location information for Vire

Calvados is a department in the Lower Normandie region of France which is home to the town of Vire. Its name is based on its location close to the Vire River, and it dates back to the Medieval times when it was first established. The town sits on a rocky area just above the river.

Vire is nestled between Mont-Saint-MIchel and Caen, and it is accessible by road when coming from those other cities. Another practical and fast way to reach downtown Vire is by train, with the rail station located just two minutes from Vire's core. Car hire in Vire Downtown is also available in that area.

The town was destroyed during the bombings of World War II but most of its main attractions were restored a year after the war. Cheap car hire in Vire Downtown lets you see those attractions according to your own schedule. Take your time exploring the 13th century Porte Horloge gateway as well as the Castle Donjon.

The bocage-virois is the region surrounding the town and it is home to the scenic Route des Gorges de la Vire, which leads to granite cliffs and wooded valleys. You can also use your car rental in Vire Downtown to access the villages in the outlying areas including Le Beny-Bocage and Vassy.

Having a car is also practical for going on day trips to other major destinations in Basse-Normandie. Drive to the regional capital, Caen, which lies 54 minutes away via the D577a and the A84. You can also consider visiting Deauville, a beach resort located an hour and 30-minute drive away from Vire via the A13.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

 What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
