Location information for Ingolstadt

Germany's youngest city, Ingolstadt can be found in the state of Bavaria, along the banks of Danube River in the heart of the region. It belongs to the metropolitan area of Munich, and is best known as the headquarters for the famous automobile manufacturer, Audi. The city is a great place to explore, offering a good range of interesting landmarks and architectural attractions, all within easy reach on a cheap car hire in Ingolstadt Downtown.

Of the many old buildings around the city, several stand out, including the Old ducal castle called Herzogskasten, which dates back from as early as 1255. The New Castle is also worth visiting, along with the city's largest church, known as the Church of Our Lady.

With car rental in Ingolstadt Downtown, it is also easier to visit some other Gothic attractions around the city, like the Saint Maurice Church from 1235, and the iconic Kreuztor, which is one of the few remaining gates of Ingolstadt's city wall.

The Baroque era also left some interesting pieces of treasure, including the university's Old Anatomy Building, and the St Maria de Victoria Church. Other attractions were destroyed during the war, although many neoclassical constructions still remain, including the well preserved fortification called Leo von Kelnze.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?
