Netanya is an Israeli city around 30kms north of the capital city, Tel Aviv. The city is located on the Mediterranean Sea. As such, it mostly appeals to beach lovers, shoppers and diners. The best way to get here is by bus or train. Trains depart from Ben Gurion International Airport on a regular basis. This airport is the most important entry point in the country; a number of airlines fly directly from the USA. Alternatively, trains also depart from downtown Tel Aviv and other towns across Israel.

Netanya Train Station is in a fairly central location, near Highway 2. Car rental in Netanya Downtown is available near the station; this is a worthwhile way to get around the city. Otherwise, travelers are restricted to local buses. However, it's still fun to ride a bicycle or stroll along the Netanya promenade.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
