What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

I was hesitant to book

I was hesitant to book a car from Unirent as I have no previous experience with them, and I prefer to use well known car hire companies because of issues I have had using less well known companies in the past. It worked out fine however because all my dealings at the airport where with Eurocar and I don’t really understand the reasoning behind the Unirent brand especially as I was in two minds not to book a car from them and choose and alternative brand instead.

For a first timer renting

For a first timer renting a car oversea, it can be confusing to me that there are 2 to 3 "companies" handling the reservation. After I had reserved online, I received an email from cse.easyterra.com. giving me voucher from car rental schiphol with alamo logo. And then there was the reservation team emailing me from cse.easyterra.com that sign off with Auto Europe. I had reserved with excess cover and when I had reached the airport alamo counter, they also ask if I needed additional insurance. It was overwhelming to me that there is multiple point of contact and the decision making was made difficult by the reservation excess cover and the point of collection insurance coverage question. I wish there is only 1 point of contact in the email leading up to collection of car. Otherwise, there better be an introduction of the companies involved in the first reservation email. The excess coverage also need to be sorted out properly. Service over profit is the way to go, please. Thank you.

Klaipeda Downtown is a district in Klaipeda, Lithuania's oldest city. It is located on the northern peak of Lithuania's western coast. It was founded in the middle of the 13th century by the Teutonic knights. The city is located on the River Nieman which runs west to the port, for which the city is famous. The port is located on the west side of the city, where the Curonian Lagoon meets the Baltic Sea. Each year 40 million tons of cargo passes through the city's port. It is considered the transportation hub of Lithuania.

The city is steeped in history and German architecture and is easy to explore with car rental in Klaipeda Downtown. There is a vibrant atmosphere here and the people are hospitable and welcoming. They are probably most proud of their biggest attraction, the Klaipeda Aquarium which is surrounded by water and built on the same site as the city's old fort.
