Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

Tijuana Airport, also known as General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport, is Mexico's second largest airport. Located just across the US border, it is the main air gateway into the city of Tijuana. Most visitors opt to drive from the US and visitors will find car hire at Tijuana Airport a great way to only get around, but also hop over the border.

The airport currently services five airlines, but is primarily a hub for Aeromexico, the national airline of Mexico. From here, visitors have excellent options to travel to other domestic Mexican destinations. There are also limited international connections, such as to China and Japan. To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
