The Thrifty address is incorrect

The Thrifty address is incorrect on 121carhire site. We had to track it down when we got to Campbelltown. Not near train station so with 2 large suitcases it was a pain... We managed to get a lift but please change it for the sake of others.

Location information for Christchurch

Christchurch is on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, the perfect location for exploring in a car rental in Christchurch Downtown. Christchurch Downtown is at the heart of what is known locally as Garden City due to its profusion of attractive parks and green spaces.

Christchurch Downtown is not too big and is located either side of the meandering Avon River. The banks of the river are lined with parks shaded by weeping willows and poplars, where street artistes offer entertaining diversions. Downtown has great heritage buildings which house quaint shops, bars and eateries.

City tourist officials boast that when driving cheap car hire in Christchurch Downtown alpine skiing, whale watching points, golf courses, wineries, parks, nature reserves and hot-air ballooning are all within a short drive. In the city itself are Christchurch Botanic Gardens and a diverse collection of natural and human artifacts in the Canterbury Museum.

Leaving the city with car hire in Christchurch Downtown are Ferrymead Heritage Park and New Brighton. Ferrymead contains steam trains and electric trams, which visitors can ride on, an old-time village complete with an old church, railway station, a pioneer classroom, antique postal equipment, museums, and displays of historic utility vehicles.

New Brighton features a long sandy beach, a landmark pier, antique and handicraft shops, atmospheric bars and cafés, and is a firm favorite with swimmers, surfers and windsurfers. Bottle Lake Forest Park is northwards on the coast and has hiking, horseback riding and cycling trails. Beaches such as Woodend and Waikuku are farther round the shores of Pegasus Bay.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
