Location information for Estoril

Estoril is a beach resort set on the Estoril coast not far from Portugal's capital, Lisbon. Originally a traditional fishing village, the demands of the international tourist industry have resulted in its becoming a popular upscale destination. The town, home to around 24,000 people, is also famous for its motor racing circuit and Europe's largest casino.

The town is small, pretty and set on an attractive harbour with a huge marina. International level regattas are here and at other venues along the Estoril coastline. Visitor facilities are good, with a selection of hotels and lodgings at all all levels and a wide choice of both international and traditional restaurants.

Estoril's location close to the capital makes it convenient for short breaks for city-dwellers and the frequency of sports, motor racing and regatta events draws domestic tourists on a regular basis, who use car rental in Estoril downtown. The town has been a hub for local visitors for 100 years now and was the place where Portuguese royals had their summer palaces.

Estoril is also known for its golf courses as well as its glorious beaches. Out along the coast and in the hills, easily reached with cheap car rental in Estoril downtown, are many charming smaller towns and villages and Lisbon is a comfortable drive away.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

 What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).
