Location information for Setubal

Setúbal is a Portuguese city near Lisbon. The city itself isn't the most exciting place, but there is a huge amount to see and do in nearby areas. Given that most tourists visiting Setúbal will need to do some traveling, cheap car rental in Setubal Downtown is highly-recommended.

Most travelers get here by train or bus. There are regular trains from Lisbon, as well as from other Portuguese cities. On the other hand, buses depart from Lisbon on almost an hourly schedule. It's worth spending a night in the city while planning further excursions. There are plenty of hotels here which cater to all budgets.

It's also worth doing some shopping in the city, in order to pick up any supplies before heading on. The Luisa Tody district is the main downtown shopping area, where plenty of clothes shops can be found. On the other hand, food supplies are on hand at the Jumbo supermarket.

The Serra da Arrábida National Park is just 10 minutes' drive away with car rental in Setubal Downtown. This park attracts those who are keen on combining a trip to the beach with some fabulous mountain scenery. In addition, it's a great place for a picnic.

Those who are looking for more luxurious resorts can cross the Sado River by boat, to the Tróia Peninsula. Tróia is also home to a first-class golf course. Those who are traveling with car rental in Setubal Downtown must take a longer route by road. This journey should take around 80 minutes via N253 and A2.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
