The capital town of Asturias, Oviedo also serves as the administrative center and commercial hub for the region. It is also one of the most historic in the principality, known for its Old Town, which is also home to a good range of cultural and historic monuments listed as World Heritage Sites. Oviedo is just about 40 kilometers away from the Asturias Airport, and is also easily accessible by coach and train travel.

Walking around the city is a pleasant experience, although more attractive sites can be visited with a cheap car rental in Oviedo Downtown. The city is also served by an efficient public transport system, including local buses and a good supply of taxis.

With car rental in Oviedo Downtown, it is easy to get to the city's old quarter known as the Casco Antiguo, and wander about its historic streets, lined by impressive period buildings.  What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
