Location information for Salamanca

A World Heritage Site, Salamanca is also one of the prettiest towns in Spain. It lies in the Castlla y Leon region, and is the capital of its namesake province. It is one of the most impressive Renaissance towns in Europe, boating of sandstone buildings and stunning old monuments. The city can easily be explored on foot, although some important attractions are more easily reached on a cheap car rental in Salamanca Downtown.

One of the most attractive sites in the city is Plaza Mayor or the Central Square, which is lined by inviting cafes and fine restaurants. The plaza also serves as a great meeting place due to its central location and proximity to other city landmarks.

The Old and New Cathedrals are also worth visiting, built right next to each other. The older of the cathedrals dates back from as early as the 12th century, while the New Cathedral traces its history back to the 16th century.

A car rental in Salamanca Downtown is also ideal when visiting other tourist landmarks like the Roman Bridge, which stands over the Tormes river. This ancient bridge dates from as early as the 89 AD, and once served as an important link for the Roman silver route, between Merida and Astorga.

The Convento de San Esteban is also worth visiting on a car rental in Salamanca Downtown, as well as some other interesting landmarks in the nearby town of Bejar, including the Castanar arena, El Bosque and La Seirra de Bejar.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

 What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
