Location information for Istanbul

There are two airports in Istanbul, that serve the popular tourists city. Bridging the gap between Asia and Europe, are Sabiha Gokcen International Airport and Ataturk Airport. Both are popular, but the European side airport (Ataturk) has the most passengers per year, with around 32 million.

Car rental in Istanbul Downtown is available from major rental car providers such as National, Avis, Budget, Hertz and Alamo. There are rental cars available from the airport, but after a long flight and being unfamiliar with the area, it is easier to get a shuttle bus to your hotel and rental a car once you're settled.

Flights from almost all major European cities are available, such as Riga, Milan, London, Edinburgh, Paris and Athens. The airlines that serve the airport include Air France, Atlasjet, Aegean Airlines and Alitalia, amongst others. Car rental in Istanbul Downtown, can be collected in the city center and dropped off at the airport upon your departure.

Istanbul covers a huge area and the best way to see as much as possible is by using cheap car rental in Istanbul Downtown. See the fascinating buildings from the Ottoman period, the modern shopping districts in Etiler and Elmadag, or visit the banks of the Golden Horn, where there are palaces, parks and beautiful buildings.

Visit the Belgradkapi Gate, although it has been restored, it was originally built in 408 AD, and is a gigantic structure that is a must-see for travelers. Catch a football game from the local teams of Galatasaray or their bitter rivals, Fenerbahce. Many street markets have souvenirs, gifts and local foods to try, and remember, always try and haggle where you can.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

 What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
