In the east of Turkey, tourists heading to Van normally use Van Ferit Melen Airport to get to the popular city. Although the airport is tiny, it still manages to serve over 800,000 passengers each year. Flights from major airlines such as Sky Airlines, Atlasjet, Borajet and Turkish Airlines are available.

Flights from cities such as Ankara, Adana, Istanbul and Izmir are the most popular. Unfortunately, there are no international flights, but an easy connecting flight from the aforementioned airports are readily available. Car rental in Van Airport is located in the Arrivals area, and one of the easiest ways to get to the city.

It only takes around 20 minutes to get to the city, using cheap car rental in Van Airport, which means you can spend more time at your hotel and visiting the nearby attractions without waiting for public transport. Located just to the west of the city is the old city of Tuspa and its castle, which are very interesting attractions.
