Location information for Orpington

Orpington is a town located in Bromley. It can be accessed with car rental in Orpington via the M25 ring-road, which goes through the south of the town. Other roads that service the area are the A208, A224 and the A232.

There are numerous sites to explore including the Parish Church, which is built on pre-Norman foundations. The building has an early English design but a Saxon influence is visible in the architecture. This religious site is noted in the Domesday Book and extensions were made to the building in 1957.

The Priory is a medieval hall house which was built in 1032 and has since been renovated. The Orpington Urban District Council took ownership of the site in 1947 and turned it into a museum, which is open to the public. You can relax in the beautiful garden after walking through the museum as the area has been converted into a public park. The natural pond, which adds to the park's scenic beauty, is formed from the River Cray.
