Location information for Yeovil

The old town of Yeovil in Somerset, England remains one of the typical market towns of the region. It still has its market days and the rural agricultural lifestyles are not too far away. Set close to the Exmoor National park, Yeovil is a place which is a the gateway to vacation towns of Devon and Cornwall.

The town is well connected by rail from London Paddington, but nearer is the international airport at Bristol. Getting a car rental in Yeovil Downtown would be the way many visitors coming to the region would choose after a long flight from the United States. Continental provides a direct air service to Bristol from New York Newark airport.

Another alternative is to use the American connections to Amsterdam and then the City-hopper service to Bristol. It's just a 90 minute trip south on the M5 to mid Somerset where visitors can collect the car rental in Yeovil Downtown. The area has plenty to offer, with quaint inns and pubs all over the county.

History is well preserved in the nearby at Wellington Castle, and to the west there are the old ports on the River Severn at Minehead and Watchet. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
