Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

The only minor issue has to do with the windshield of the car. What ever cleaning product that was used was vey greasy and difficult to see thru the steaks. First stop was the Store for some windex wipes. Everything else was perfect

South Carolina's famous city of Charleston is served by a large airport located just outside of the city center by around seven miles. The city lies on the coast, making it popular with many tourists who can relax on the beach and have a cultural stay in the city, made all the more easy with car rental in Charleston Airport.

Charleston Airport is domestic, though the official name is Charleston International Airport. The airport connects Charleston to some of the USA's major cities, including Dallas, New York, Washington and Atlanta. These routes fly daily and are operated by some of the largest domestic airlines in the US.

The airport terminal building is all on one level, and is well laid out. The main hall connects the various areas of the airport, with Arrivals on the left as you enter, check-in to the right and Departures straight ahead. Everything within the airport is clearly signed.

There are some good facilities in the airport, most of which are located in the Departures lounge. There is a coffee shop selling hot and cold drinks as well as snacks, a restaurant serving all main meals of the day, and a snack bar for a quick bite. There is also a gift shop and news stand, and information and car rentals in Charleston Airport are located in Arrivals.

All forms of transport from the airport can be booked in Arrivals. There is a regular shuttle bus from the airport into Charleston center, limousine rentals, plenty of taxis wait at the taxi stand, and also budget car rental in Charleston Airport.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

 Are there any additional costs?

Our rates are all-inclusive. Our reservation department will inform you in advance should additional costs apply. You can always cancel your booking free of charge if you do not agree (this must be done at least 48 hours prior to the start of the car hire period).

 What kind of insurance is applicable to my car rental?

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.

 What is a worry-free label?

Only rental companies with a high level of customer satisfaction are eligible to be included in our Worry-Free selection. This rate includes excess cover and unlimited kilometres. Your vehicle will be provided and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. With a vehicle from our Worry-Free selection, you can travel with peace of mind and no hidden costs.

 How can I change or cancel my reservation?

You can cancel your reservation through "My Account". We recommend contacting us by phone if your changes to your booking or cancellation takes place at short notice (48 hours or less).

 When will I get a confirmation of my booking?

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
