Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

Excellent - the website had been sluggish and repeated attempts to make the same booking resulted in 3 bookings. But the team quickly confirmed they had cancelled two, and the actual booking all worked fine once we got to Orlando.

Travelers who are flying to the Los Angeles area or other destinations in Orange County may find themselves passing through Long Beach Airport. This is especially the case if visitors are flying from other major East Coast airports or flying with JetBlue Airways. This airline has established their hub here.

Despite the fact that the airport is a lot less crowded than Los Angeles International Airport, passenger numbers have increased with the arrival of JetBlue Airways. Many passengers choose car hire at Long Beach Airport as their mode of transport. Other modes of transport are also available.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
