Although terminal 1 was indicated on the booking. The rental was booked out of terminal 2. After waiting for 90 mins at terminal 1 we had to then go to terminal 2 to collect the car

Vichy is a notable resort and spa town and it lies in central France's Auverne region. This historic destination was once the de facto capital of Vichy France when the Nazi Germans occupied the area during World War II. Nowadays, this modern town still retains its old world charm through some of its buildings and attractions.

Vichy is the place to visit to enjoy mountainous and continental climate due to its proximity to the Alps and the Massif Central. It also lies on the Allier's riverbanks, and it is accessible by rail travel from Lyon, Paris, and Clermond. The town is also accessible via the A719 and the A89.

The town may have its own public transportation network but if you are visiting with your family, consider car hire in Vichy Downtown instead. That way, getting around will be more convenient and comfortable, especially if you want to go sightseeing or go on day trips in other parts of the region.

 What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
