The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

The cultural city Cosenza is located at the meeting point of the Busento and Crathis rivers, and filled with culture and history showcased by several museums theaters and libraries. Trains arrive and depart from the station two kilometers northeast of the city where you can book car hire at Cosenza Rail Station.

The Cosenza Rail Station has regular service to Reggio di Calabrio and Rome as well as the Ferrovie della Calabria line. This line runs little trains through the La Sila mountains and the small towns around Cosenza making for some scenic rides. The trains are self-propelled, locomotive or vintage steam trains.

Regular shuttles run between the Cosenza Rail Station and the Lamezia Terme Airport. As well there is a tourist office with modern buses ready to take you on a tour, or opt for a more convenient way to travel and arrange for car rental at Cosenza Rail Station.

Cosenza has a numerous amount of cultural and historical sights throughout the city including museums, libraries and theatres. Perhaps the most important sights are the religious buildings the Church of San Domingo, the Cathedral and the Monastero delle Vergini. Cosenza is also filled with great restaurants, bars and craft shops.

With the La Sila Mountains so close by, Cosenza is the perfect gateway to exploring the beautiful hills and villages throughout the region. Booking cheap car hire at Cosenza Rail Station is an excellent way to tour around La Sila. The loopy road and spectacular views make it a great outing.

What do I need to do when picking up a car?

If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

In general, Liability Insurance, Fire Insurance, All-Risks Insurance and Theft Insurance are included in the cost of your rental car.
