The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Fiumicino Airport is the biggest airport in Italy. It's located 35kms from downtown Rome and caters to around 36 million passengers each year. The airport is a base for the Italian airline, Alitalia, but is also served by a number of other carriers, flying as far afield as the USA and the Far East.

Alitalia offers direct flights from several US airports. It currently flies from Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Newark. Delta Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways also operate some other routes. Travelers flying from Detroit, on the Delta Airlines route, should note that this service operates on a seasonal basis only.

Fiumicino Airport is served by a twice-hourly train service to downtown Rome. In addition, there are other local trains that could take a bit longer. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
