Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

Excellent - the website had

Excellent - the website had been sluggish and repeated attempts to make the same booking resulted in 3 bookings. But the team quickly confirmed they had cancelled two, and the actual booking all worked fine once we got to Orlando.

The only minor issue has

The only minor issue has to do with the windshield of the car. What ever cleaning product that was used was vey greasy and difficult to see thru the steaks. First stop was the Store for some windex wipes. Everything else was perfect

Location information for Fairbanks

Fairbanks is a remote town in the middle of Alaska and is the state's second city. Many highways converge on Fairbanks, including that of the Alaska Highway, and it is a popular spot to pick up car rental in Fairbanks Downtown.

Fairbanks experiences pretty tough weather and is not nice for a visit in the winter. It is nice in the summer, however, and there are several national parks nearby to explore with budget car rental in Fairbanks Downtown. In town are all the standard shops and fast food joints you'd typically find in any major US city.

Fairbanks Downtown also comes with a good supply of museums and other touristy things, such as the beautiful Pioneer Park. There are many fun family attractions within this center, including museums, theaters and rides. The El Dorado Gold Mine is another top attraction to see with car rentals in Fairbanks Downtown.

In addition, Fairbanks is also home to some pretty smoky hot springs, which are within reach of the city by hire car and are fantastic for a visit during the freezing winters.  What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
