Everything was very straightforward, I was asked to buy additional insurance by Avis for breakdown etc, so it would have been useful to understand this wasn't included in the quoted price - if it was stated it wasn't obvious. It would be useful for you or the rental companies to provide more information on how pick up and drop offs work at the specific airports. Finding the drop off place a San Francisco was not great, as the address stated and google maps puts them in slightly different places - and the attendant joked that finding the garage wasn't easy.

Excellent - the website had been sluggish and repeated attempts to make the same booking resulted in 3 bookings. But the team quickly confirmed they had cancelled two, and the actual booking all worked fine once we got to Orlando.

The only minor issue has

The only minor issue has to do with the windshield of the car. What ever cleaning product that was used was vey greasy and difficult to see thru the steaks. First stop was the Store for some windex wipes. Everything else was perfect

Fairbanks International Airport serves America's northernmost state, Alaska, and is situated five kilometers southwest of Fairbanks city. Both a cargo and passenger aircraft handling facility, the airport logs around 135,000 aircraft movements annually and handles 900,000 passengers, mostly traveling on smaller airlines with JAL the only major international carrier.

The recently built replacement terminal is smaller and more efficient then the original, but unfortunately now has no room for the previously displayed museum exhibits, which included a massive, rearing and fortunately stuffed polar bear. Among the facilities offered in the new building is budget car rental in Fairbanks Airport.

Happily, the view from the terminal across an arid plain still shows the distant, snow-covered Rocky Mountains. Facilities provided include an ATM and money changing booth, a cafe? serving great coffee and pastries and a full-service bar with sandwiches and snacks. A gift shop offers Alaskan handicrafts including furry polar bears in much smaller sizes.

Long and short-term parking spaces are supplied at three locations on the complex at reasonable prices, six car hire firms including brand leaders Hertz and Avis offer car rentals in Fairbanks Airport and taxis and a shuttle bus provide alternatives for the short journey into Fairbanks city center and beyond.

Fairbanks has a population of around 35,000, and is the second largest city in the state. Driving out to the wilderness at night to witness the glory of the Northern Lights is easy with car rental in Fairbanks Airport. Tracing the history of the gold rush days or driving around Denari National Park with its grizzly bears, moose and caribou make great daytrips.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
